Ed. Note: In "False Witnesses," Terry writes:

I'm a Republican. My family was a family of Democrats on both my parents’ sides. I broke rank with my family in 1980, registered as a Republican, and cast my first vote for Ronald Reagan as a young man. From that moment till this, I have been a registered Republican.

I have never been a registered independent. And I've never been a member of the US Taxpayers Party (although I love them, and Howard Philips, their Founder.)

However -- I say to my sons for the good of their souls -- I have put Christian principle ahead of political party. When the Republican Party has been treacherous to Christian
ideals, I have placed my loyalty to Christ ahead of my loyalty to the GOP, and stood for truth. (I pray I always do.)

Hence I have happily worked with the US Taxpayers Party (now the Constitution Party) to herald the principles of life, liberty, and justice inherent in our faith, espoused in the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, and by the Constitution Party.

I believe the Constitution Party's platform is a much clearer reflection of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution than the Republican or the Democratic Party platforms. But that too is another story...
