Oct. 31, 2011--Herman Cain's appearance at the American Enterprise Institute occurred in the context of a story which broke the day before.  Politico reported on allegations of sexual harrassment when Cain headed the National Restaurant Association.  A small swarm of reporters and cameras waited for Cain's arrival at AEI, at least fifteen cameras covered his speech, and another swarm gathered to catch his departure.  Cain kept his focus on 9-9-9 and policy and did not address the accusations despite the efforts of one reporter to draw him out.
Cain's senior economic advisor Rich Lowrie, who helped craft the 9-9-9 plan, accompanied him at the speech.  Lowrie has worked in the investment sector for about two decades.
