DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee Meeting   ...1 of 1 >
July 23, 2011--During a meeting of the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee, Anita Bonds, chair of the DC Democratic Party, presents the DC party's 2012 delegate selection plan as DNC staff and aides look on (the co-chairs are in the middle, blocked in this image).

The committee, chaired by Alexis Herman and James Roosevelt, Jr., is in the process of reviewing these plans which set out how delegates will be selected for the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC.  State parties were required to submit their plans by May 1, and the committee began considering them in a June meeting.  Starting out with staff recommendations, members of the committee look to see whether the plans meet affirmative action goals and other requirements or whether they have deficiencies; careful consideration is given to waiver requests.  [See another report on this meeting from DemRulz].
The committee has a total of 30 members.
