NARAL Pro-Choice America Demonstrates Outside Romney Fundraiser
March 22, 2011--Former Gov. Mitt Romney, now the solid frontrunner in the race for the Republican nomination, held a closed press fundraiser at the Hyatt Regency that drew quite a few legislators, including Sens. Roy Blunt (R-MO) and John Thune (R-SD).
Outside, a group of 15-20 demonstrators from NARAL Pro-Choice America and several other groups sought to draw attention to Romney's anti-choice record.  NARAL Pro-Choice America deputy political director Erika West spoke to reporters [press release].  The Etch-a-Sketches are a reference to the much-replayed comments Romney senior advisor Eric Fehrnstrom made during an interview on CNN on March 21.

Note: Also on this DC trip, Romney held private meetings on Capitol Hill and a town hall meeting in Arbutus, MD.
